01 / THE BEGINNING

An Old Farmhouse. A New Vision.

Some places already have a story worth telling. For Magnolia Acres, that story began long before it became a business.

At the heart of the property stood a farmhouse more than a century old, surrounded by land that had witnessed generations of everyday life, changing seasons, and family traditions.

When Sherri began envisioning what Magnolia Acres could become, she wanted to do more than open another event venue or photography studio.

She wanted to share a place that already meant something.

Her vision was to preserve the character of the property while creating opportunities for others to make memories of their own. A family gathering for portraits. A couple celebrating their wedding day. A photographer creating something beautiful. Friends coming together for a special occasion. Each experience would become another part of the property's continuing story. But transforming that personal vision into a business required more than a beautiful setting. It needed direction, structure, a recognizable identity, and practical ways to welcome customers.

She Authentic began working alongside Sherri while Magnolia Acres was still taking shape, helping develop the foundation, brand, and experiences that would bring her vision to life.

What began as a business and brand development partnership eventually grew into an ongoing relationship encompassing marketing leadership, business operations, photography, and customer experiences.

02 / THE FOUNDATION

Turning a Meaningful Place Into a Business With Direction

When our work began, Magnolia Acres had several possible directions. The property could serve photographers looking for a distinctive location, couples planning intimate weddings, families hosting celebrations, or educators and creatives organizing workshops and retreats. Each opportunity had potential, but they needed to work together within one recognizable business.

Before beginning the visual identity or website, we worked through the foundational decisions that would guide Magnolia Acres.

This included identifying its audiences, clarifying its services, exploring revenue opportunities, and defining what made the property different from other venues and photography locations.

Throughout those conversations, one thing became clear.

The history of Magnolia Acres wasn't simply something interesting to mention. It was central to the business itself. Rather than creating a new story for the property, we wanted to invite people to become part of the story already unfolding there.

A Brand Rooted in Heritage and Hospitality

We established a foundation built around four guiding values:

Heritage & Preservation — Honoring the history and character of the farmhouse and surrounding land.

Family & Connection — Creating opportunities for families, couples, and friends to gather and celebrate.

Creativity & Inspiration — Giving photographers, artists, and educators a place to bring their ideas to life.

Hospitality & Experience — Making each visit feel personal, welcoming, and connected to the character of Magnolia Acres.

These values gave us a consistent direction for the business's identity, offerings, marketing, and customer experience.

THE BRAND IDENTITY

Preserving the Character While Building Something New

One of our priorities was translating the significance of Magnolia Acres into a brand people could recognize and connect with. We didn't want the business to feel like a commercial venue that happened to sit on an old farm. We wanted the history, natural beauty, and warmth of the property to remain at the center. The identity needed to feel established without being formal, beautiful without being extravagant, and welcoming without losing its sense of occasion.

Our creative direction drew inspiration from the farmhouse, surrounding landscape, old oak tree, and the traditions associated with the property. We developed a cohesive brand identity and messaging system that reflected warmth, heritage, simplicity, and genuine connection. Rather than relying on trends, we allowed the character of the place itself to guide the design. The resulting brand standards created consistency across the website, photography, marketing, and customer-facing communications.

Magnolia Acres didn't need us to manufacture a sense of history. It already had one. Our role was to help communicate it.

04 / PHOTOGRAPHY & CREATIVE DIRECTION

Helping People Experience the Property Before They Arrive

Photography was an essential part of bringing Magnolia Acres to market.

As the brand and commercial photographer, I developed and captured original imagery that introduced the property, its services, and the experiences guests could have there.

The work extended beyond photographing the farmhouse and landscape. We needed imagery that would help potential customers imagine themselves using the space.

My work included brand photography, commercial promotional photography, and in-person client photography sessions on the property.

Working behind the camera also gave me firsthand insight into what photographers needed from the venue.

I could evaluate how the light moved across the property, how different settings photographed, what made a backdrop useful, and how sessions

could flow for both photographers and their clients. That experience directly informed our photography rental offerings, marketing, and future creative development.

Creating Experiences Photographers Could Return For

As the business developed, my creative role expanded into photography set design and seasonal experiences.

We developed concepts for fall portraits, Christmas and holiday sets, themed photography sessions, and custom backdrops.

These weren't simply decorative additions. Each experience was considered in relation to what photographers could offer their clients,

how it could be marketed, and how it could create opportunities for additional bookings.

We also developed marketing around custom set design services, providing another way for Magnolia Acres to support photographers.

The goal was to make the property a creative resource that photographers could return to throughout the year.

05 / THE DIGITAL EXPERIENCE

Creating a Digital Home for

Magnolia Acres

With the business foundation, brand identity, and photography established, we developed a website that brought those elements together. The website needed to communicate the property's history while making its services easy to understand and explore. It also needed to provide clear pathways for customers to inquire, schedule tours, and book experiences.

We organized the digital experience around the business's primary offerings:

Photography Rentals — Indoor studio and outdoor property rentals for portraits, creative projects, and seasonal sessions.

Elopements & Intimate Weddings — A meaningful setting for couples seeking smaller, more personal celebrations.

Private Events & Gatherings — Opportunities for showers, birthdays, family celebrations, and other occasions.

Workshops & Retreats — A setting for educators, creatives, and organizers to bring people together.

Each service had its own audience and purpose while remaining connected to the larger Magnolia Acres identity. We developed website messaging, service content, calls to action, and educational blog content to support customer discovery and inquiries. The photography helped visitors picture themselves at the property, while the website structure made it easier to understand what Magnolia Acres offered and how to take the next step.

The objective was to make the website feel like an invitation to experience the property, not simply a list of services.

06 / MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Connecting the Right People With the Right Experiences

Once Magnolia Acres had an established identity and digital presence, our work continued into marketing and business development. With several distinct services, the business needed more than one general marketing message. We developed strategies for reaching photographers, couples, families, educators, and event organizers with content relevant to their interests. For photographers, we emphasized the versatility of the property, indoor studio, seasonal backdrops, equipment, and membership opportunities. For couples, we focused on the intimate and personal nature of elopements and smaller weddings. For families, we highlighted the opportunity to preserve memories through photography and celebrations. For educators and organizers, we positioned the property as a setting for creativity, learning, and connection.

Building Opportunities for Repeat Business

An important part of our strategy was helping Magnolia Acres develop recurring relationships with photographers. We created campaigns around six-month photography memberships, flexible rental opportunities, and seasonal incentives. We also developed promotions for senior portraits, family photography, golden-hour sessions, holiday experiences, and custom photography sets. Our marketing work included social media, email campaigns, educational content, photographer features, testimonials, vendor spotlights, and community engagement. The objective was to establish Magnolia Acres as more than a place customers visited once. We wanted photographers and other customers to see it as a resource they could return to throughout the year.

Bringing the Brand Into Real-Life Experiences

My involvement also extended into coordinating and attending events, representing Magnolia Acres in person, and speaking directly with prospective customers. I helped introduce photographers to the property, explain rental and membership opportunities, and develop relationships that could lead to future bookings. These conversations were valuable for both sales and business development.

They helped us understand what photographers were looking for and how Magnolia Acres could better serve them. The brand strategy, marketing, creative experiences, and in-person events worked together to create opportunities for customers to discover and connect with the business.

07 / ONGOING BUSINESS & MARKETING LEADERSHIP

A Partnership That Continued Beyond the Launch

As Magnolia Acres developed, my role expanded beyond its original

brand and website project.

Sherri brought me on to serve as Online Business Manager and Chief Marketing Officer, allowing me to support both the customer-facing experience and the practical work behind the business. As Online Business Manager, I helped organize customer-facing systems, operational communications, scheduling processes, vendor applications, and administrative workflows. This included work on booking processes, membership communications, customer email templates, review requests, and business handoff procedures. As Chief Marketing Officer, I directed ongoing marketing strategy, promotional campaigns, messaging, and content development across the business's different services. These responsibilities connected the creative work we had established with the day-to-day decisions involved in running the business. I wasn't only considering how Magnolia Acres looked to prospective customers.

I was also helping think through how inquiries were handled, how services were promoted, how customers were supported, and how the business could continue developing opportunities for growth.

What began with foundational conversations about the property became a broader working relationship supporting Sherri through multiple stages of building and operating Magnolia Acres.

08 / THE RESULT

An Old Farm With a New Chapter

When our work began, Magnolia Acres was a vision centered around a historic farmhouse, a beautiful piece of land, and a desire to share that place with others. Through our partnership, that vision developed into a business with a defined identity, a clear collection of offerings, an established digital presence, and a coordinated approach to marketing and customer experience.

Our work included:

  • Business foundations, positioning, and strategic development.
  • Brand identity, messaging, and creative direction.
  • Website design and development.
  • Original brand, commercial, and client photography.
  • Seasonal photography sets and custom creative experiences.
  • Marketing campaigns for photography rentals, memberships, weddings, and events.
  • Educational content and customer communications.
  • Event coordination and in-person business development.
  • Operational systems and customer experience support.
  • Ongoing Chief Marketing Officer and Online Business Manager leadership.

The result was more than a recognizable brand or a functioning website. Magnolia Acres gained a connected business foundation that brought its history, services, creative opportunities, and customer experiences together. A place where photographers could create. Where families could preserve memories.

Where couples could celebrate a new beginning.

And where the history of an old farmhouse could continue through the people who visited.

THE SHE AUTHENTIC APPROACH

Honoring What Already Exists

There is something meaningful about building a brand for a place that already holds so much history. When I began working with Sherri, I wasn't starting with an empty story.

The farmhouse, land, and traditions surrounding Magnolia Acres already had character and significance. My role was to help uncover what made that story valuable and translate it into a business that could share it with others.

That required more than creative design. It required listening, understanding the larger vision, developing a strong foundation, and working through the many practical details involved in bringing a business to life.

From brand strategy and website development to photography, marketing, events, and business operations, I had the opportunity to work alongside Sherri as Magnolia Acres grew. And throughout the process, the most important thing remained the same.

We weren't trying to replace the history of Magnolia Acres with something new. We were creating a way for that history to continue.

Before we build the brand, we build belief.
